Hometown Girl Returns to Lead Southwind at Spearville!

After a several month search, the Board of Directors announce that effective July 1, Megan Humke has joined Southwind at Spearville as the Administrator of our facility.

Megan is a hometown girl, graduating from Spearville High School in 2010. After obtaining her CNA license in 2012, Megan began her journey to become a Registered Nurse which she obtained from DC3 in 2015. Megan graduated from Fort Hays State University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. In 2022, Megan completed the administrator-in-training program and obtained her Adult Care Home Administrator license. Most recently the Administrator at Winfield Rest Haven, Megan brings with her a wide variety of nursing experience including med-surg, ER, home health, and long-term care.

“I am excited to be back!” says Megan. “I am thankful for the opportunity to serve the elders and their families in my hometown community.”

Megan is the daughter of Vern and Lorie Stein. She enjoys reading, watching football and basketball, traveling and camping with her wife, Jessica, and game nights with their families. Megan also enjoys the companionship of her fur babies: dog, Tank and cat, Willow.

A Welcome Reception will be held on Wednesday, August 7 from 4 to 6 p.m., Southwind at Spearville, 102 Pine St., Spearville, KS. Please join Southwind in welcoming Megan back home.
