Southwind at Spearville is a non-profit organization focused on the care of seniors in a family like environment. A local board of directors governs the organization. Our mission is a vision created by caring for each other with kindness, compassion and respect, guided by small-town values.
The care for residents is person-centered and staff engage in caregiving relationships based upon an individual’s needs and personal desires. This person-centered model offers a full range of personal care and clinical services expected in a high-quality nursing home as well as assisted living environments.

Hometown Girl Returns to Lead Southwind at Spearville!
Megan Humke has joined Southwind at Spearville as the Administrator of our facility.
Megan is a hometown girl, graduating from Spearville High School in 2010. After obtaining her CNA license in 2012, Megan began her journey to become a Registered Nurse which she obtained from DC3 in 2015. Megan graduated from Fort Hays State University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. In 2022, Megan completed the administrator-in-training program and obtained her Adult Care Home Administrator license. Megan brings with her a wide variety of nursing experience including med-surg, ER, home health, and long-term care. “I am excited to be back!” says Megan. “I am thankful for the opportunity to serve the elders and their families in my hometown community.” |
